About Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is a business productivity suite with word processor, spreadsheet, presentation and email software.
Setting the Normal Template
The Normal template is the file on which all new documents are based. To create your own template:
- Open a new MS Word document.
- Select Format > Style from the menu to load the Style Dialog.
- Set the Normal, Headings, Header, Footer and any custom Styles to your tastes and Apply.
- Try out your new Styles and edit until their perfect.
- Then, delete all the content from the file and set the remaining paragraph mark to Normal' style.
Note: If you have text which you always include in every document, such as a custom header or footer, then leave this is the template. - Select File > Save As from the menu.
- Set the document Format to Document Template.
- Save the file to your Desktop with the name
Normal(without the .doc) - Exit Word.
- Open the folder
Applications/Microsoft Office 2001/Templates/. - Replace the file
Normalwith the new one from your Desktop. - Relaunch Word and when you open a new document it will be based on your updated template.
Hint: Make a backup copy of your Normal template as this file is constantly being overwritten and may become corrupt over time. Then if this does happen replace it with your backup.

Syncing Entourage with .Mac and Apple Address Book
This is only possible with Office 2004 or higher. For previous versions you'll need to use an Applescript import/export function (not recommended).
